Carolyn,

Thanks for the correction regarding the blog. I actually had a chance to chat with Tom a bit after the tour was over. He's the one who pointed out to me where the old log cabin would have stood and where the family cemetery would have been. Sadly that is now lost to the nearby housing development.

I would say there were about 25 people on the 1:00 o'clock tour we were on and I saw about ten waiting for the 2:00 o'clock one when we were leaving. Just an estimate though.

Hi Dave,

As always great post and thank you for your support. Could you tell me how many showed up at this tour? Also, a correction, the Spirits of Tudor Hall blog is actually handled by Tom Fink, president of the Junius Brutus Booth Society. He has been very helpful with my inquiries and very knowledgable on the Booth family.

Bryantown Tavern

21 May 2013

Just for the record: you and Lindsey are welcome to visit the house here at any time for as long as you would like (and as often as you would like) from sometime this summer (post-July) on. At the moment, Suzanne (who is in Florida until June) and I are in the throes of moving furniture from her/our (recently sold) condo in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia to the house here for staging to take down to a recently-purchased house in Fort Myers, Florida. Current result: the inside of the Bryantown house here very much resembles a shipping warehouse. When the furniture and boxes moves are completed, one will then be able to sit down here again.

I have some (easy-to-peruse) file books here of items re the history of the Bryantown Tavern (and other Lincoln assassination-related topics) that you might enjoy looking over.

Regards; and thanks for the excellent BoothieBarn postings.

Hi Dave,

I contacted Tudor Hall yesterday and he told me he came across an old article recently somewhere at the Historical Society of Harford County about John's initials possibly carved at Rock State Park. He'll dig around for the article for me. I'll let you know.

Could have let me know that you were going and I practically went by there on the road to Washington, I had the impression it was only open in the fall. Forgot the name of the place when we
were in Maryland and exactly where it was, the same for the Surratt Society, I thought it was quite aways from D.C. Would have been more than standing in long lines at the Smithsonian and Ford's
Theatre.

Kieran,

I know your name quite well and I do indeed have one of your wonderfully done escape route maps. I, of course, would never pass up a complementary copy of your new edition, which I expect will be as equally well done as the first. I'll email you shortly.

Good Morning Dave
My name is Kieran McAuliffe and I am the creator of the John Wilkes Booth Escape Route map. You possibly have a copy of it. I would like to announce that I have re-issued the map and it is now available on Amazon, as well as some historic sites such as Ford's Theatre and the Surratt House Museum.
The map is thoroughly reworked, more detailed with new information learned in the ten years since the first printing. It was great fun to create but a lot of work.
I would like to mail you a free copy. Can you give me an address to send it to?
